January is the perfect time to start thinking about your future and what you would like to achieve.
Whilst creating New Year’s resolutions, you need to understand that YOU have the power to create YOUR success.
Many people set goals or resolutions that are vague or diluted and these goals are hard to stick to. Goals need to specific, realistic and you need to be committed.
If your resolution is to lose weight, then plan a strategy for this – ask the questions, follow your answers and create clear steps to achieve this.
Ask the questions:
- How are you going to do it?
- Why are you going to do it?
- When are you going to do it?
We asked our campers, what are your New Year’s resolutions? Here’s their feedback – and our advice!
Emma wants to stop eating cheese in the middle of the night.
Emma should remove cheese from the house and replace it with veg sticks or fruit – the healthier alternative will be the first stop in breaking a habit. There’s plenty of snack suggestions inside the Bootcamp Kitchen recipe book.
Laura wants to put herself first in 2019
2019 is all about self-care! Learning to say “no” is a great way to create time for yourself so you can have a bath, create a plan and work on your goals.
Katie wants to stop drinking pints.
Katie should replace pints with something which is significantly lower in fat and calories – if it’s an alcoholic alternative, try a vodka-soda if not, try a smoothie!
James wants to weigh under 70kg.
Creating an exercise regime and a dietary plan will guide James in his journey – don’t forget to reward yourself when you meet mini milestones!
Joy wants to get fit and take part in an endurance walk every weekend.
Researching endurance walks is inspiring and can help Joy to plan her routes!
Andrea wants to enjoy running again as she has a 10k run in February.
Andrea has a clear goal as she’s running in February -, having a deadline will help her to get out and train!
If you’re unsure on what your resolution should be this year, but you know that you want to make a change, book a 1-day boot camp for some guidance.
