Life post the Big Brother House…
Being ‘released’ from camp, you feel like it’s the first time you have ever ventured out into the big wide world… after fourteen days hidden away in camp… No security of calorie / portion controlled food and no set-out exercise plan… No new best friends or Dan, Caroline, Collette or Conrad to keep you motivated… Eeek!
Post camp; life for me has continued to change. I’m not on a diet, I have changed my diet. That’s a significant thing for a bloke living alone, working in London who didn’t eat 3 meals a day, drank too much red wine and the only exercise was taking the lift to the third floor… I have moved more in the past month than in the past two years! Seriously..
My decision to do camp was to kick start me, what a massive kick, I feel like a different person. I have bundles of energy, my children are finding it hard to keep up. I consider everything single thing I eat, I walk 5 miles a day, I do twenty minute HIT sessions at home and a seven minute workout before bed (check out https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/7-minute-workout/id650762525?mt=8). I even have a FitBit!
You need a goal for your return; this is really key; be it getting slimmer, fitter, run a four minute mile… Set a goal, once reached, set another.
For me, I could not have done this on my own without attending camp. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I invested in myself. The feeling of going down two jean sizes is amazing! I love clothes and can now actually fit into any brand rather than having to shop at Big and Tall… I can’t tell you how this makes me feel.
If you want to change how you feel about yourself, how you look, or to train for a marathon, please don’t risk failing. Invest in yourself, give yourself the best opportunity you will ever have to make a permanent change to your life. If I can do this I swear anyone can.
I have continued to lose weight and dropped another 10lb since being back. It’s also encouraged some of my friends and colleagues to get fit… I seem to be the go-to person for advice on diet and exercise. Crazy to think that a few weeks ago the same people were asking me where to get the best burger from…
Happy Easter Campers, mind that chocolate!
