There are number of factors that can affect how effectively we exercise. But the absolute number-one priority is to make sure you set yourself clear targets for fitness and weight loss.
We have talked before about the benefits that setting targets can bring – in fact, we talk about setting targets an awful lot on this site, but we won’t apologise for that because it’s so important!
It doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned gym lover, or starting out exercising for the first time in your life – without clear targets, it can be nigh-on impossible to track your progress and development.
The beautiful aspect is that it keeps you in control of what you’re doing. You can set the targets so that you can achieve them, and then raise the bar later on if you’re being successful.
The targets can be flexible, too. Maybe you want to lose a certain amount of weight, or be able to lift a certain amount, or perform a certain number of reps, or complete a run in a specific time.
No matter what it is, targets will help you keep on track and in control of your progress.
Of course, the best thing you can do with your targets is share them. It makes you feel more accountable if you’ve stated your aim publicly – and we can help you succeed and give you advice
There’s no shame in missing them – as long as you know why it happened and can learn from that in future.
So, we are launching a campaign to get everyone talking about their targets. Sharing our aims, our successes, and even our failures – it’s all good and it gets us talking about exercise and healthy eating in a positive way.
So, using the hashtag #BootCampTargets let us know on Twitter or on Facebook what your targets are – and if you need some advice, drop us a line and we’ll do what we can to help.
