Sometimes, there’s no better way to demonstrate your knowledge of a subject, than to get out and do it!
Ahead of our specialised Triathlon boot camp from 9th-11th October 2015, Northern Bootcamp staff Bruce, Caroline and Dan took part in our local triathlon, the Bamburgh-based Castles Challenge Triathlon.
Bruce and Caroline took on the sprint triathlon – a 750m Swim, a 20km Bike then a 5km Run – and here they are looking remarkably cheerful afterwards.
The next day, Dan was amazing as he completed the middle-distance triathlon the next day. ‘Middle distance’ is a bit of an understatement, as this event is not for the faint-hearted or the weak-legged. After a 1,900m swim, competitors take on a 90km bike ride, and follow it off with 21km (half marathon) run.
For anybody interested in taking up Triathlons, Northern Bootcamp is holding a special Triathlon-focused camp in October. There are more details available here, but this is the proposed timetable for the weekend.
It will be a fantastic way to build up some fitness, while learning the Triathlon ropes. Triathlons are not just physically and mentally challenging events: it is also vital to understand and practice some of the more technical elements, such as the changeovers between disciplines.
Our sessions will be aimed at beginners – ideal for anyone who is considering taking up the sport for the first time. It will give you the groundwork you need to train correctly through the winter, with a clear idea of what a triathlon demands and involves, and then you’ll be in great shape for the Triathlon season in 2016.
If you want to talk to us about the Triathlon Bootcamp, feel free to give us a call on 0845 467 3750 and we’ll help in any way we can.
