We’re not about to tell people not to have fun – everyone has to let their hair down from time to time, and trying to abstain at Christmas is particularly difficult. Remember, at Northern Bootcamp the focus is on having fun in the right way.
Equally, we see and hear every year how sluggish people feel in January after all the over-indulging. How people who have worked hard all year to get or stay in shape have totally let themselves down and reverted to their bad old habits at Christmas.
There must be a balance to strike, to make sure you can hit the ground running in the New Year, right? Of course there is.
So here’s our suggestion: carry on partying in December. Have fun, eat cake, (and mince pies, and hors d’oeuvres, and yule logs, and so on…) and enjoy your traditional roast with all the trimmings.
BUT… why not keep in trim by stepping up your efforts either side of the parties?
This is our #AdventAbs concept. By exercising in short bursts throughout December, and combining the fun, not-so-healthy party food with healthy meals and low-calorie drinks, it is possible to limit the damage that December does.
Northern Bootcamp will be counting down to Christmas with different recipes, exercise plans and Ab exercises on our blog every day. Keep an eye on the #AdventAbs hashtag on our @northbootcamp twitter account, and keep checking back here for hints and tips to keep your healthy lifestyle in check this Christmas.
We can’t guarantee that you’ll end up with an actual six-pack, sadly, but we can ensure you’ll continue to feel great for the whole month and avoid that stodgy start to 2015.
As always, if you have any questions, fire them to us on Facebook or Twitter and we’ll do our best to help out.
Our first #AdventAbs post is here – good luck, and don’t forget we’re still offering £50 off all 2015 boot camp bookings made before Christmas. Have fun!
