Carol – 8lb lost at weight loss boot camp *

Carol, age 45 joined us back in December 2012 for a 7 day camp and returned for a second boost in June 2013.  Her reason for joining us was, in her own words ”weight loss, fitness and a kick up the bottom”

She described her fitness before joining us back in December 2012 as a couch potato.  She was 13 stone , size 18 jeans, 22 top half.  Carol suffers from fybromyalgia, inflammatory arthritis and autoimmune thyroid disease!  She could not climb the stairs without pain and exhaustion and was very fed up of  being in pain and unable to do anything.

Carol was extremely happy with her 8lb weight loss in Dec 12 and once again astounded her self with 6lb on her return in June 2013.  However, Carol has managed a total loss of 3 and half stone/22kgs in one year.  She has lost a massive 52 cms and is now a size 10 bottom half 12/14 top half.

She explains that keeping fit helped her manage the joint and muscle pain, more importantly she has managed to cut down on medication too. She has a lot more energy and can now run up the stairs with no problems.

Due to her change in lifestyle her energy levels have been boosted tremendously.  She now takes 6/7 classes a week at her local gym, who monitor her weighs and measures every 8 weeks, which helps her to keep me on track.

She now takes part in combat, chi flow, kettlebell, stretch and tone yoga and circuit training every week.  She is proud that she is now able to swing/clean a 12kg kettlebell and is hoping to move up to 16kgs very soon.

She also ensures that she has regular sports physiotherapy who advise her on technique and form.  She also has the support and advice of the NBC team as part of the aftercare we provide.

In Carol’s own words, ‘I am now in control of my body, not the other way around. My family and gym colleagues say I am a different person. Northern Bootcamp gave me my life back. I can’t thank you enough’
